Eight years ago, at a writing workshop on the edge of Bodmin Moor, I started work on a short story about a young woman who’d recently moved to London and, in an attempt to ground herself with something familiar, goes in search of a painting - a print of which hung on the wall of her childhood home.
Last summer, after a visit to London myself, I took another look at 'Beata Beatrix' and I’m thrilled that it’s been selected for the second edition of Aspier – a magazine that celebrates Cornwall’s writers, artists and thinkers, and - as you can see from the stunning cover design by Elizabeth Loveday - is itself a thing of beauty.
